Come and join us for a week of asana and pranayama on the beautiful Scottish Isle of Colonsay
June 1st - June 8th 2024

Spring / early summer is a fantastic time to visit Scotland and Colonsay is spectacular at this time of year. Think spring flowers, deserted white sandy beaches and crystal clear sea. The best way to see Colonsay is by bike and you can either bring your own, or hire one on the island.

The cost of the yoga tuition is £375 (Concessionary place available, just ask) and you should budget around £300 for accommodation on the island. We will have 2 classes per day - a 2-3 hour active asana class from 8.30am and a restorative / pranyama in the evening at 5pm. The classes will be taught in Colonsay's beautiful village hall and you will need to bring along your own yoga kit, which we will be able to store in the hall for the week.

Depending on numbers, we will book one or two of Colonsay's big farmhouses for accommodation and there will be a choice of shared twin or private double accommodation (or shared double for couples). You can of course choose to make your own arrangements for accommodation either in the hotel, backpackers hostel or one of the many self-catering cottages. If you are booking accommodation independently it would be a good idea to choose something close to the village hall, which is located in Scalasaig, next to the harbour.  Partners and children who do not wish to participate in the yoga classes are always welcome and there is plenty to see and do while we get on with the yoga.

Getting to the island is something of an adventure. The ferry from Oban takes 2 hours and 15 minutes.  The journey to Oban can be undertaken any number of ways - both train and car journey take you through the Trossachs National Park and past Loch Lomond. Another option is to fly to Glasgow and then take the train to Oban for the ferry. If driving up, the Lake District makes an excellent stopover location - last year I stayed in YHA Patterdale and started the day with a swim in nearby Brother's Water.

Please email tam@yoga-glos.co.uk to book your place, but hold off booking travel and accommodation until we have confirmed minimum numbers.
